John’s Children featuring three original members – Andy, Chris Townson and John Hewlett, along with Trevor White, who was scheduled to join the band in late 1967 have recorded a World Cup song called “Come On England (Our English Sons)”.

The song started life as an idea by John (a four note bass lick). John took his four notes to Trevor who expanded the idea and when all four members were in the studio the song was worked on even more. The studio used is in a complex in Mill Hill, North London and it has both rehearsal and recording facilities.

Two rehearsals took place towards the end of May and the recording was done on June 2nd and 4th.  The mixing was done on June 6th, with mastering taking place at Townhouse Studios on June 9th.  The song is in a heavy rock type vein with a punk sing-a-long anthem.
